A small business owner is often a person who provides solutions to problems in way of products or services. Generally small business owners bring solutions that involve already established products and services.
Entrepreneur
An entrepreneur is similar to a small business owner as they too provides solutions to problems in way of products or services. The main difference however, comes from the solutions they provide. The ideas most entrepreneurs use are new innovations that have not been used before.
Companies like Airbnb and Uber were founded by entrepreneurs. Brian Chesky and Joe Gebbia (Airbnb) did not invent vacation properties or rental properties. They identified a way to bring available living space to those needing it. The same is true with Travis Kalanick and Garret Camp. They found a way to connect available transportation to those needing it.
Simon Sinek has a lot to say about building a business properly. He believes that successful business are build on their understanding of “why” they exist. Rather than a business focusing on making money, which is the end result, they should focus on providing the solution to a problem.
